Works by both professionals and amateurs are on display at ‘Boven de Bank’. You can see paintings by well-known artists such as Blok van der Velde and Souwtje de Wijn alongside works by unknown artists. Thanks to Jac.P. Thijsse and the Verkade albums, Texel gained a reputation as a truly special nature reserve. The paintings depict the Texel of yesteryear, with its wide landscapes and sandy paths through the villages. What a difference from today!
