House rules

At Oudheidkamer Texel, we strive to ensure a pleasant and safe museum visit for all our visitors. To guarantee this for everyone, we have clear house rules. On this page, you will find an overview of the house rules that apply during your visit to our museum.

  • Children under the age of 13 are welcome at Oudheidkamer Texel when accompanied by an adult.
  • Running and shouting are not permitted in the museum or on the grounds.
  • Handcarts, balance bikes and (stunt) scooters are not allowed in the museum; there is space to store them in the cloakroom, at your own risk.
  • Visitors must treat our collection, the building and the outdoor area with care; visitors are liable for any damage they cause.
  • Clearly recognisable, certified assistance dogs are welcome in the museum; other animals are not.
  • Visitors who are unable to move around the museum independently may bring one companion free of charge upon presentation of a valid companion card or doctor’s certificate.
  • Food and drink are not permitted in the museum or the museum shop.
  • The entire museum and outdoor area are smoke-free; e-cigarettes are also not permitted.
  • We ask visitors to wear appropriate clothing when visiting the museum; swimwear is not permitted.
  • Ticket sales end half an hour before closing time.
  • Have you lost something in the museum? We keep lost property for a maximum of two months.
  • There is CCTV surveillance in both the museum and the outdoor area; the recordings are temporarily stored by Oudheidkamer Texel.
