Especially considering the fact that winters back then we\u2019re a lot harsher than nowadays. Of course it helps if you\u2019re wearing thick clothes, But a baby does have to bare its bum during a nappy change. Luckily, there was the fire basket.<\/p>\n                <\/div>\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n    \n    <div class=\"row expanded small-up-1 large-up-3 \">\n            <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<section class=\"image-text wp-block alignfull image-text--image-right\" id=\"text-image-block_67d178de182fe1585a9e8c6d9b4aca6b\">\n\t<div class=\"row align-middle\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"column small-12 large-6 image-text__text-col\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"px-l\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"image-text__title\">Warming up and drying nappies<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"image-text__text\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>On a fire basket, the nappies and clothes were warmed. You can find such a fire basket near the box bed in the back room. In a hanging basket underneath the basket, glowing embers were placed. These warmed up the cloths that hung above it. Nappies that were only peed in, were also hung to dry on the fire basket. Without washing them first!
